You can hire paddleboards or boats, hop into a canoe to ride along the water and go bird-spotting. You’ll see great wildlife here, including swallowtail butterflies, otters and kingfishers!
Gosport, Hampshire
For those who love to be out at sea, Gosport has a plethora of activities to ‘wet’ your appetite. Hiring boats and yachts are just the tip of the iceberg. You can also pay tuition to learn how to sail both.
Families can escape on fishing trips for a day and enjoy the peace and quiet – and when you’ve caught enough fish, you can let loose by wind-surfing, kite-surfing or jet-skiing.
River Wye, Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire
The River Wye offers itself to use for canoeing and kayaking. Suitable for all abilities, the river naturally has different degrees of difficulty to practise on. Some places are suitable for experienced kayakers only, but there is no need to shy away from this sport if you’re a learner. You can have just as much fun in the safer parts of the river.
Falmouth, Cornwall
Remember your snorkel if you decide to visit Cornwall this summer! A marine graveyard is there to discover for everyone. You will find a WW1 U-Boat and a sunken Dutch ship named ‘Epsilon’. There is no rush to leave the sea as you can watch the sea life from a boat. Here, you will get the chance to observe seals, dolphins and sharks in their natural habitat.
